Icebreaker 2008
photos are up! A great time was had by all! Fleet Captain
Denny and his lovely wife Pat did a terrific job on their first event.
Also a big "Thank You" to
Tan-Tar-A
and
Marine Max
for all they did to make this a very special event! Click on the "Photo
Galleries" link to see all the pictures. Friday night we
enjoyed a boat cruise to Shorty Pants Lounge aboard four new cruisers
compliments of Marine Max. Saturday several of us enjoyed a
private tour of some new boats at Marine Max, a stop in the well stocked
hospitality room in the Presidential Suite, a few special presentations,
introduction of new members, dinner and dancing in the
Crystal Ballroom with music by the
Rail Band
then the obligatory hot tub after party with Mr. Bubbles. The
photo above has been edited to show what it should have said on
Saturday, the only glitch I am aware of all weekend. |

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR
RECREATIONAL BOATERS!
Following is from Boat U.S. website on
Government Affairs:
"For the last several
months, BoatUS has been working to fight the developing EPA discharge
permit for “normal operational discharges”, including grey water, deck
wash, and engine cooling water from all vessels. Unless there is a
change in the court decision, or legislation is passed, this permit
system will require that boaters in the U.S. apply and pay for a
discharge permit for each of their boats to operate after September
30, 2007."

Thanks to Fleet Captain Gary and his wife Judy for all their hard work
putting this together. Rich Luttrell and his staff at
Yacht Club
of St. Louis did an outstanding job of setting up a temporary dock
in front of the club so we could board, preparing the appetizers onboard
and had the Sharks Band playing that evening after we returned from our
"3 hour cruise". Over 130 guests enjoyed the beautiful weather and
a leisurely cruise down the Mississippi. If you have any pictures
you would like to contribute email the

The Moonlight Cruise aboard the Grafton Ferry
on Saturday, August 25th was another fantastic party thanks to Fleet
Captain Gary, his wife Judy, The Rail Band, food catered by Sharky's
Landing, a full moon, perfect weather and 130 people having a great time
dancing the night away on the water. Click on the picture above to
see more pics. |

Got the following email and picture from Lynn
Tighe:
On a recent trip through Kentucky and
Barclay Lake, Tim and Lynn Tighe had the most enjoyable opportunity to
visit with CTYC members, Tony and Carolyn Green. This photo of Tony
and Carolyn was taken at their new
Safe Harbor Yacht Sales Office in Kuttawa, KY. They are both extremely busy with business in their new
office at Kuttawa Harbor not to mention with the design/build
construction of their new "Dream Home !", located nearby. They send to
each of you, "Hello and All Best Wishes", and look forward to
seeing everyone in June during their next visit to our area.
