Con Trios Yacht Club Charitable Donations

CTYC sponsors and administers the "Edwin W. Meyer" Safety Endowment Program, providing funds to local boating organizations to help promote safe boating.  Previous grand recipients include the Missouri State Water Patrol, Alton Volunteer Emergency Corps, Orchard Farm Fire Department, and the St. Charles County Underwater Rescue and Recovery Force, Wings of Angels and others.

In addition donations have been made to other charitable foundations and organizations either directly related to boating or members of our Con Trios Family. In 2010 Con Trios was able to contribute to three different organizations.

Donation requests for 2011 can be applied for by contacting Con Trios Yacht Club's Vice Commodore after January 1st, 2011.

Through Little Johns Motorsports and the St. Louis Drag Boat Association a contribution was made to help sponsor the Drag Boat Races at Creve Coeur Lake in June. The primary charity of this event is Autism Speaks. Con Trios Yacht Club set up our tent to help shade the children next to the Bounce House along with providing a place for our members to view the racing. Past Commodore John Bicknese brought this to the attention of the Board.

A contribution was made to the Blessing of the Fleet Inc. as in the past to help keep the long tradition running. A perfect marriage of one of the largest boating events in the area with one of the largest Yacht Clubs in the area. Many of our Board and Members also assist with the Blessing of the Fleet. Past Commodore Tim Tighe brought this to the attention of the Board.

And finally a contribution was made to the Karen Weidinger Foundation that assists patients with breast cancer. Karen (who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2004), her Father Howard and their extended family have all been longtime members of Con Trios Yacht Club. Past Commodore Sonny Robbins brought this to the attention of the Board.
