Email from Becky at Two Rivers Marina: Hi! My name is Becky, and I work for Two Rivers Marina, LLC in Rockport, IL. We are located at UMR mm 283.2. The reason for my email is to invite your club to our National Marine Day festivities. National Marine Day is on Saturday, June 9th. We are planning a weekend of festivities. On both days, we will be hosting a petting zoo, plus an in and out of water boat show. All activities for this weekend are FREE! We have some dealers lined up to bring boats, and are also allowing individuals to bring theirs as well, with prior approval. On Saturday, the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be doing free safety inspections. This too is free, but is by appointment. Saturday night, we will have a live band that plays classic southern rock-The Notorious Nightcrawlers. This is also free. We are looking to boat/yacht clubs that would like to sell food either or both of those two days. So far we have Two Rivers Boat Club serving sandwiches and chips from 11-2 on Saturday. If your club would be interested, please let us know. All expenses and profits are exclusively the clubs. We understand by your event calendar that you have events scheduled for that weekend, but still wanted to extend an invitation to all of you. Two boat parades, one leaving Yacht Club of St. Louis heading downstream and one leaving Harbor Point Yacht Club / Alton Marina area heading upstream depart at 1 PM and then merge to pass by the Shrine of Our Lady of the Waters in Portage des Sioux at 2:15 PM. Best decorated boats in several classes are picked by a panel of judges and awards will be presented. BENEFIT FOR THE BLESSING OF THE FLEET! More Sad News for our river family: Jim and Cyndi Frichtel Betty L Vaughn, Mother of Con Trios Member Cyndi Frichtel, passed away yesterday, Betty fought long and hard with Alzheimers for many years. Betty's funeral arrangements are: Friday, March 30th, Kriegshauser West Funeral Home 9450 Olive Blvd, 63132. Visitation is from 3 PM til 8 PM. Funeral service Saturday, March 31st, 10:00 a.m. at Kriegshausers, burial will be at Mount Lebanon Cemetery 11101 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Ann. Hank Kinder, of Kinders Restaurant, passed away today at home. He was 90 years old. Our condolences go out to the entire Kinder's family. Sad News: Bob and Karen Brncic Con Trios Member Robert "Bob" S. Brncic, 60, died at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Bob's Wife Karen is Manager of Alton Marina. Arrangements are pending at Paynic Home for Funerals. There will be a celebration of his life at the pavilion at Alton Marina. April 7th at noon. All are welcome.

Sad News to Report: Faye Gross, Preston Honea and his daughter Pam at the 2007 Champagne Brunch Preston Honea, former Con Trios Yacht Club Member, longtime boater out of Woodland Marina in "Golddigger" and Dear Friend to many of us passed away on Wednesday, February 8th at home in Florida after a long battle with lung problems. He will be sorely missed by many of us both here and in Florida. Arrangements are as follows: Visitation only for Preston Honea will be this Sunday, February 12th from Noon to 6 PM at Baue Funeral Home, I-70 & Cave Springs Road, 3950 W. Clay,St. Charles, MO 63301.
